Bud Frankel Memorial Fellow | SWIM
“I believe in using technology not just to protect systems, but to empower communities. At SWIM, I’m passionate about bridging digital innovation with healing and justice.”
As a Bud Frankel Memorial Fellow and a graduate student in Computer and Information Science at Marquette University, Albert brings a unique perspective to SWIM, one that integrates cybersecurity, digital equity, and community-based research. Originally from Ghana and educated in China, Albert’s global experiences inform his passion for inclusive and resilient tech ecosystems.
Albert’s work at SWIM focuses on strengthening digital platforms, supporting program delivery, and exploring how artificial intelligence and machine learning can both empower and challenge communities impacted by trauma, violence, and systemic inequality. He is actively involved in projects that engage youth, reimagine public health through tech ethics, and uplift wellness narratives through digital storytelling.
Before joining SWIM, Albert worked as a software engineer in China, where he led projects in web development, application security, and cross-cultural platform design. He is especially committed to advancing trauma-informed technology and rethinking how AI can be used responsibly in underserved communities.
Albert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Technology from Shenyang Institute of Technology-China and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Information Assurance and Cyber Defense at Marquette University. Beyond his academic and professional life, Albert is a drummer, DJ, and avid traveler who enjoys exploring diverse cultures and advocating for global justice through digital empowerment.
