Becca Laszkiewicz
Trauma Nurse Navigator, Froedtert Hospital
As a Nurse Navigator at Froedtert Hospital, I specialize in supporting victims of gun violence, leveraging over 8 years in the trauma department. My primary goal is to educate and empower patients throughout their healing journeys, offering guidance and resources both inpatient and in outpatient settings. I am trained to deliver trauma-informed care, which addresses not only physical injuries but also the emotional and psychological needs of each patient.
By focusing on a holistic approach, I ensure that every patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique experiences and challenges. Through active listening and empathetic communication, I work collaboratively with individuals to help them regain control over their narratives and health outcomes. My role extends beyond medical care; I strive to build trust and foster resilience, providing patients with the tools and support they need to navigate their recovery effectively.
I am dedicated to creating a compassionate environment that prioritizes healing and empowers those affected by violence to reclaim their lives and wellbeing, not only at the hospital but throughout our city.
Wellness Wisdom: Mindfulness techniques such as meditation and deep breathing are great tools to use independently to help with relieving stress and anxiety, but social connections and having a supportive network are equally important in helping to build resilience together.
