Somatic psychotherapist, Grace Healing and Wellness
Nicki Steinmetz Nelson
“I love that SWIM provides space to connect community members with trauma-informed practitioners from a variety of modalities so that together, we can honor the needs of the whole person as they seek healing and integration.”
Nicki is a deeply relational clinician that believes you are the expert in your own life and that you have all of the inner wisdom, strength, and resilience you need to take the next steps on your journey towards wholeness. As a therapist, it is her role to listen deeply and hold your story with reverence, while offering the space, tools, and resources to support you on your way. Nicki takes a holistic approach to working with adults who are navigating transitions, traumatic histories, anxiety, depression, and grief. Her aim is to provide invitations to tend to your body, mind, and spirit, with opportunities to grow in self-awareness, deepen self-compassion, and build self-efficacy. Sessions are grounded in a body-based approach called Somatic Experiencing, and will also integrate her training in mindfulness, self-compassion, interpersonal neurobiology, and attachment theory. She also offers spiritually integrated psychotherapy should you desire it, working with any religious affiliation or spiritual identity. Nicki received her MA in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. She also holds an MA in Theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.
